The Short Version
SmartGLP1 stores app records on your device without requiring an app account. Database records are encrypted using SQLCipher with a key held in the device keychain. Photos and voice recordings are separate local files protected by your device; the app does not apply its database encryption to those media files. We do not receive your app health records or sell your data.
Data We Collect
The app does not transmit your health records to our servers. Doses, weight, symptoms, nutrition, measurements, glucose readings, costs and educational-coach conversations are stored in the encrypted local database. Photos and voice recordings are stored separately on your device. The website launch waitlist collects the email address you submit and the signup time, as described below.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you choose to connect Apple Health, SmartGLP1 reads only the data types you approve (such as weight, blood glucose, steps, workouts, and active energy) to display your information in the app and its paired Apple Watch companion. SmartGLP1 does not send these records to our servers or use them for advertising.
Apple Watch
The paired Watch companion receives a summary of your medication, dose schedule, weight and activity through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. It stores a local cache in device-protected preferences, separate from the iPhone's encrypted database. The app's Documents and Library folders on both devices are excluded from automatic device backups. Removing the Watch app clears its local cache.
Backups
Optional database backups are created on your device and protected with your passphrase using AES-256-GCM encryption. These backups contain database records and media metadata; they do not include photo image files or voice recordings. Preserve those files separately if you need them. You explicitly choose where to save or share the backup through Files. App-owned health journal files are excluded from automatic device backups; export records and preserve photo or recording files separately before changing devices. We cannot read or recover it if you lose the passphrase.
Educational Coach and Photos
The educational coach uses local rules and your logged records to offer general educational responses. It does not send conversations to a remote AI service. Progress photos support manual viewing and comparison; automated photo analysis is unavailable in this release. These features do not provide medical advice.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment card details. Apple's privacy policy governs the purchase transaction.
Notifications
Dose, weigh-in, hydration, and refill reminders are scheduled locally. The paired Watch companion can display your dose schedule. We do not operate a remote push server for your health reminders.
Website
The website does not use tracking cookies. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and signup time on our hosting server for SmartGLP1 availability updates. Standard web-server logs may record technical request details such as your IP address and requested page. To leave the waitlist, email privacy@smartglp1.com from the address you registered and ask us to remove it. Waitlist signup does not create an app account or subscription.
Data Deletion
Use Settings → Delete All Data on your iPhone to remove its app database records and app-owned photos and voice recordings. Remove the companion app from your Watch to clear its local cache. Exported backups, shared reports and original photos in your photo library remain under your control and must be deleted separately. For website waitlist removal, use the privacy contact above.
Children
SmartGLP1 is not intended for use by children under 17. GLP-1 medications should always be managed with a healthcare provider.

Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date.
